The Canadian Coalition for Good Governance believes that regular and constructive engagement between an issuer's shareholders and its board of directors is of primary importance. Responsibility for engagement lies with both shareholders and boards.
Engagement by Boards
CCGG recommends that boards of Canadian issuers adopt our model policy on engagement with shareholders.
Engagement by Shareholders
CCGG, on behalf of its members, engages with the boards of approximately 50 issuers each year. The meetings provide an opportunity for discourse between an issuer's shareholders and its board of directors as elected representatives of the shareholders. Discussion topics include all aspects of corporate governance.
